Artistic Endeavors for Fundraising

Something really cool I’ve seen here, and I knew, but I never fully commented on: you guys are all really crafty. Seriously. And crafty things, if you are so willing, are good for fundraising. :D The t-shirts that Andy designed (still working on how to distribute those), Kame’s prints, and a secret project that Hinata is working on, but I assure you that you will love! All of this has me thinking: is there anybody else who wants to make something to be sold to fellow fans to gain funds? We still very much need a treasurer to keep the PayPal account (someone in the US, I think, because that’s where most of the things for fundraising will occur, but I can check on that.) If you’re interested in donating, or helping with being treasurer, please comment here! :D

Update from Jules Verne Festival

If you went to Jules Verne Festival or want to read the update, go to this thread in the forum area. To sum it up, there’s no news which suggest that we should relax and be relieved. In fact, I’ve heard reports that suggest the reverse elsewhere.

What does this mean to us? We have to work harder. We need to intensify our campaign. If you haven’t send any mail or postcard to NBC and Tim Kring, please do so. You can find the address either inside the forum or in one of these entries. If you have access to the media (reviewers, journalist, etc), please use them and ask for our help to increase our profile.

Most of all, we want to kick-start the advertising idea. If you live in the US and can help us calling several magazines about advertising cost, please go to the “List of campaigns to do” and offer your help. We also need people who can contact PayPal about setting up an account in which all of us can chip in for the ads.

We knew this is going to be a long-term campaign so we really should not expect things to get easier. But look where we are now. We now have over 100 members in the forum. That means we have substantial amount of members to do any kind of movement we need to bring Nathan back on the show. If we work together, we can get this done. So let other Nathan fans know about this movement and do anything you can think of to bring him back.

Update: You can read detailed description of the trailer at brokenbacktango’s LJ (contains spoilers for volume 3).

Save Nathan Petrelli @ Livejournal

Campaigner Roseganymede, unbeknownst of the this site, started a Save Nathan Petrelli campaign on LiveJournal! Rose also has made an excellent design for the Save Nathan at Cafe Press store, which she also created. Rock on, Rose! We are better together than separate, especially when there is a common goal in mind. Save Nathan, Save the World!

We need help

We really need help to spice up this blog, create banners, and watch out for important news and views. If you’re interested in helping, please mention your interest here and what you want to do. For example, does anyone here have experience with Wordpress blog (ie. modifying template, etc)? It would really be helpful to have some help in this regard.

We have a forum

We now have a forum so we can interact with one another and give suggestions on how to improve this site and what kind of campaign we should run. Please register and start using it because this site won’t be much of a use unless people start participating.

http://www.savenathanpetrelli.com/forum/

Please don’t just register but then never post anything. :D I’ve had similar experience in another site. Please say a word or two so we can start to get the ball rolling.

A Call to Arms - Welcome to SaveNathanPetrelli.com!

Special thanks to 8mitsu for getting this up and running for us!

In the midst of the first season, it took me by surprise just how much of a Nathan fangirl I was. I had become obsessed with the character, delving into what made him do what he does. By far, he is the most complex character on the show. Adrian Pasdar is a very accomplished actor who is gifted with the talent of being able to bring the best out of every actor he works with. He’s not dominating, though he can be if the scene is meant for him to be. His art is subtle; facial expressions, posture, and physicality alone speaks volumes about Nathan Petrelli.

It’s been said that fans either love him or hate him, but in either case, fans have a strong feeling one way or the other about him. It’s a character of this dynamic that one really wants to have continue on a television program. Plus coupled with Pasdar’s talents for the awesome and there’s a win-win situation for everyone.

On December 4th, Kristin, of Watch With Kristin, reported some terrible news: the writers are not in agreement about keeping Nathan alive. She spoke earlier of the fans being up in arms about Nathan’s possible demise. We owe it to her, to the writers, and to the love we all have for this incredible character to show the writers exactly what fans think.

How Can I Help?

Graphics Creators, We Need You! - Make icons, make banners, Macros, and other images which capture the spirit and the need of saving Nathan Petrelli.

If you aren’t graphically inclined, you can obtain existing graphics here. Thanks to Jadeblood for the icons and banners!

Make Posting Pleas - Tokutaisei and 8mitsu give us links here and here for places you can post to.

I also strongly, strongly suggest that you post to Buckshotwon. Tell Adrian himself how you feel about his character!

Write to Media Outlets - The important thing is that the word is spread that the fans of Nathan Petrelli want him to continue on Heroes in Volume 3 and beyond. If you have media contacts, please use them! Write you school paper, your hometown paper, entertainment websites. Please leave a comment here where you state what site you’ve posted to.

A Note on Tone of Writing - When you write your posts and letters, be sure that the tone of your writing is of a professional, thoughtful nature. Our passion must be shown in an intelligent manner.

Vidders, We Need You, Too!

We want your campaign vids. They can be to showcase why Nathan needs to be saved, a vid depicting yourself where you talk about Nathan, anything you want, as long as it relates to what we’re doing here. We have a channel, Heroes Vid Fans, where we can showcase these videos. If you want your video on the channel, please e-mail us and we can provide you with the information to log into the account.

Make a Stink of it in Real Life - Now this is probably one of my favorite things to do: the real life presence where the writers, cast, and other fans can see us in action. When the Save Carson Beckett campaign was in full swing, the campaigners got together at Bridge Studios, where Stargate: Atlantis is filmed, and had some Highland Celts play “Amazing Grace”. This was one of the most passionate events, but there were many others, too.

The biggest Heroes event coming up in a couple of weeks is the Jules Verne Adventures Festival, on December 15th, where Tim Kring and Jeph Loeb are scheduled to appear. There’s a Red Carpet thing at 5PM. A grouping of Campaign Supporters need to be there! If you are in the LA area, please e-mail me, Jen the Fangirl, at WriterFangirl at gmail dot com and we will coordinate. At the appearance, we need posters and t-shirts that relate to our cause. I shall be showing myself as my dual identity, Jen the Vote Petrelli! Campaigner, but with new posters! We’ll be working on getting pictures of hi-res quality for you to print out.

Save Our Show or Save Our Character campaigns can be long and hard. With the Writers Strike, this one is going to be very different than past ones. The writers won’t make a decision until after the strike has ended. But in the mean time, there’s lots that we can do to show our support and love for this incredible character.
